Introduction ​

Welcome to Horizon RP, as with any server we have server rules to maintain order and keep the community on the same page. While the page may seem like a long read, we aim to keep the rules simple while also going into great detail to avoid any confusion.

Definitions ​

Whether you're new to Unturned roleplay or you're a seasoned player, we've listed many of the RP terms below that are often used throughout the wiki and the server.

  • KOS: kill on-site (randomly killing someone)
  • RDM: random deathmatch (randomly killing someone)
  • VDM: vehicle deathmatch (killing someone with your car)
  • NITRP: no intent to roleplay
  • FailRP: doing something that would be unrealistic/impossible in roleplay
  • MassKOS: KOS but done to many players
  • MassVDM: VDM but done to many players
  • NLR: new life rule (see rule #X for more information)

Server Rules ​

Take some time to familiarize yourself with the rules on the server. If you have any questions or want clarification, feel free to ask a staff member.

General Rules ​

  1. All players on the server must have intent to roleplay.

    Nobody is perfect, but please put in a good effort to learn and follow the rules on the server and engage in good faith roleplay with our community.

    Example: A player that is committing mass RDM/VDM may be banned for NITRP (no intent to roleplay

  2. Stay civil in-game, in our Discord, and in any official channels.

    These rules aim to keep communications in the server civil and maintain a solid community where people feel welcomed and respected.

    • Treat people with decency.
    • Do not use racial/ethnic/homophobic slurs.
      • N word is allowed, hard R is not.
    • No racism/homophobia/anti-semitism
    • No ERP/erotic/18+ content or roleplay of any kind.
    • Non-English/Latin script names are not allowed for moderation reasons.
    • Harassing other players will result in a ban.
    • Micspamming in-game will result in a kick, then a ban.
    • Annoying/distracting voice effects are not allowed in-game or on Discord VCs.
    • Do not encourage self-harm or suicide.

    Example: Repeatedly harassing someone with no initiation from them.

  3. Do not use/abuse any exploits, cheats, or macros/automation.

    Abusing exploits will result in a permban, so we encourage players to report them in a ticket instead. Macros/automation are also bannable.

    Example: Abusing an NPC exploit to get rich, using cheat software in PvP.

  4. Do not attempt to evade or workaround bans.

    Attempting to evade your ban will result in a permban for your main account as well as any alts identified by HWID/IP/other evidence.

    Example: Joining on an alt account after a ban.

  5. Do not impersonate other players/groups.

    • This includes:
      • Identifying yourself as another known player or group
      • Identifying yourself as staff or otherwise officially representing Horizon RP
      • Wearing another faction's kit clothing

    Example: Putting [Moderator] in your username, using someone else’s username.

  6. Cross-trading (trading something in-game for something in real life) is not allowed.

    Not only is this likely against Unturned/Steam ToS, but this also never ends well for people when they do it anyway. This may result in a permban.

    Example: You cannot sell something in-game for $10 USD in real life.

  7. A maximum of 8 players can be on the same side in any RP situation.

    An "alliance" refers to any temporary cooperation between players during an RP scenario. Regardless of faction, no more than 8 players can work together on the same side of an event, such as a robbery or raid.

    Example: You cannot team up for a bank robbery with more than 8 people total.

  8. Follow FailRP rules:

    • Stay in character, you must act as if you are living as your character.
    • Value your character’s life, do not ask players to harm/kill you or intentionally harm yourself (eg. killing yourself in a campfire).
    • Don’t exit/disconnect from the server in RP/staff situations. This will likely result in a ban or harsher punishment if already being reprimanded.
    • Discord text/VC channels and live streams are considered “OOC” (out-of-character), meaning that you can’t use knowledge from those channels in-game, eg. for raids.
    • Interfering with another player’s RP situation if not involved, is not allowed.
    • Don’t spawn/land vehicles outside of the allowed areas:
      • Helicopters can land at: helipads, airports, out of cities.
      • Planes/jets can land at: airfields, out of cities.
      • Boats can only be spawned in water.
      • Cars should not be spawned inside of buildings or underground (eg. mines).
    • Don’t abuse vehicle physics (eg. jumping out of cars mid-air, flinging someone’s cars).
    • Don’t use /kit in an active RP situation.
    • During an RP situation, you are only able to call for teammates within the same city. This only applies if you have not had your communication taken away verbally.
    • Do not move weapons into your inventory to avoid losing them in a combat RP situation.
    • Unauthorized raiding (eg. destroying crops in a base) is not allowed.
    • You must not run away or refuse to cooperate in a PD situation if your player is cuffed/tased in-game.
    • No abusing in-game mechanics/exploits, such as flipping or moving cars with your character’s body.

  9. Follow NLR (New Life Rule):

    • Going back to an RP situation after you have died is not allowed.
    • You must wait 3 minutes before returning to the area where you’ve died.
    • You should act as if you have no memory of the previous RP situation if you did not live through it.

    Example: Dying in a shoot-out and immediately driving back.

  10. No freebuild (freely placing barricades/buildables).

    Only place barricades or buildables inside or on your properties. Do not place barricades on places you do not own on the map. Doing so will result in a tempban. Extending your property or building outside must be approved by an admin.

    Example: Building a house in the woods, adding an extension to my house without permission from an admin.

  11. Follow building limits:

    Building limits are enforced to prevent abuse and reduce lag on the server.

    • Residential properties (houses, apartments):
      • 4 Plots
      • Barbed wire/fences are not allowed.
      • Blocking windows is illegal. (will result in raid from PD)
    • Private properties (hangars, warehouses, factories):
      • 6 Plots
    • Commercial properties (shops):
      • 0 Plots (shops must be shops)
    • Faction bases:
      • 8 Plots
    • Vehicles:
      • Barricades on vehicles must be placed realistically, not in nonsensical or impossible places.
      • Covering the front/back windows is allowed, covering the sides is not.
    • Notes:
      • 4 Planters = 1 Plot
      • Plants must always be planted on a plot, and the plot cannot be removed unless the plant is removed.
      • Trying to workaround the limits is not a good idea 😃
      • PvP-oriented builds (eg. airlocks) are not allowed, will be deleted and you will receive a warning from staff.

  12. Follow KOS rules:

    • Don’t kill/shoot/punch someone without a valid reason:
      • Self-defense
      • Verbal conflict in RP
      • Verbal arguments (does not include insults)
      • Verbal baiting
      • Threats
      • Imminent danger
    • Don’t revenge KOS (would be against NLR)
    • Hitman RP (killing someone on another’s behalf) is not allowed at all.
    • Intentionally PvP baiting is not allowed.
    • You can have a KOS sign on your property, but you must issue 2 in-game verbal warnings first before killing any offenders.
    • Unintentional crossfire does not fall under KOS.

  13. Follow VDM rules:

    • VDM (vehicle deathmatch) is not allowed on the server.
    • What would be considered VDM:
      • running over someone not in a road
      • running over someone on the sidewalk
      • intentionally driving your car into a group of people
    • What wouldn’t be considered VDM:
      • running over someone who is clearly in the middle of the road
      • running over someone after they jump in front of your vehicle

  14. Follow FearRP rules:

    • For a single person being robbed:
      • Being robbed by 2 or less people: you can use any weapon currently in your hotbar (1-2). If not, you must comply with their demands.
      • Being robbed by 3 people: you can use any weapon currently equipped. If not, you must comply with their demands.
      • Being robbed by 4+ people: you may not use any weapon, and must comply with their demands.
    • For groups of more than 2 people:
      • If they have 1-2 more players than you group: you can use any weapon currently in your hotbar (1-2). If not, you must comply with their demands.
      • If they have 3 more players than your group: you can use any weapon currently equipped. If not, you must comply with their demands.
      • If they have 4 more players than your group: you may not use any weapon, and must comply with their demands.
    • You are not allowed to body loot if you are not part of the RP situation.
    • If the above rules indicate that you must comply with the robbery, you must comply in a reasonable amount of time.

  15. Follow Property limits:

    • Players can have a maximum total of 3 properties
      • Max of 2 Residential Properties (house/apartment)
      • Max of 1 Private Property (hangar/warehouse/factories)
      • Max of 1 Commercial Property (shop)
    • Players must register their shop with staff in Discord to get restock permissions
      • Once registered, you can order restocks with /restock.
      • Do not bother staff about your restock, they will get to it eventually. If you want priority restocks, consider buying a rank.

  16. Scamming players is strictly prohibited.

    A transaction is defined as an agreement where a player purchases an in-game item, vehicle, or similar asset in exchange for in-game money. If a player does not uphold their end of the deal, it is considered scamming and will result in punishment.

    We only enforce this rule if the scammed player provides an unedited video clip showing the entire transaction, from the agreement to the exchange. Partial evidence will not be accepted.

    Example: A player agrees to purchase a car for $5000, but instead the seller takes the money and leaves.

Player Robbing Rules ​

In player robbing RP situations (including kidnapping) make sure to follow the following rules listed below.

  1. You must wait a 45 minute cooldown after initiating a player robbery.
    • Applies to all robbers, whether the robbery was successful or failed.
  2. You must give the other player 3 clear warnings
    • Give them a chance to react, do not rapid-fire 3 warnings.
    • If the other party pulls out a weapon, the warning is no longer valid.
  3. You can only rob a player for the items on their player.
    • If you are being robbed, you can not modify your inventory or items in any way.
  4. Stalling isn’t allowed if you are being robbed. (max: 15 seconds, must be valid & realistic RP)
  5. If the other party complies with the robber’s demands, you must let them leave.
    • This means you cannot kill, harm, kidnap, or otherwise force them into another RP situation directly after the robbery ends.
  6. If communication is cut during a robbery, you must leave your group for the complete duration of the RP situation.
  7. Robbing is not allowed near or in:
    • Safe zones
    • NPC shops
    • 1st floor of the mines (2nd/3rd floors are fair game)
  8. Anyone entering a robbery situation (not the person being robbed) can be given 3 clear warnings, after which you can kill them if they do not leave.
    • If they pull a weapon, warnings are no longer needed.
  9. These rules apply both to player robberies and PD arrests.
  10. You can not rob another player while they are AFK (away-from-keyboard).
  11. You can not rob another player on their own property (as in, they must not be on/within their property at the time that you initiate the robbery).

Bank Robbery Rules ​

Rules below apply for bank robberies at any of the banks on the map. Police rules and laws related to robberies are located on the Horizon PD wiki.

  1. Robbers can’t have outside help from other players.
  2. If robbers leave the bank during the robbery, they can’t come back to the robbery.
  3. Hostages can’t leave unless their ransom is paid.
  4. Players not involved in the robbery cannot enter the bank during a robbery.
